NIESV Demand for the Establishment of Estate Management and Valuation Department During Courtesy Visit to Federal University Lokoja



On Friday, March 6, 2026, ESV John Eniwaiye the Head of Practice at John Eniwaiye & Co. led delegation from the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) Kogi State Branch on a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye.


The purpose of this visit was centred around fostering collaboration and explore areas of mutual interest between the profession of estate surveying and valuation and the university. While speaking, he congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his appointment and expressed his desire to work together to promote academic excellence and professional development in his capacity as the Chairman of NIESV in the University.


The highlights of this visit included:


- Familiarizing the professional body with the university management

- Discussing the roles of professional bodies like NIESV

- Exploring areas of collaboration and synergy

- Requesting the establishment of an Estate Management and Valuation Department in the university


The Vice Chancellor appreciated the members of NIESV for their visit and noted the importance of collaboration with the university. He highlighted key areas and referenced the paper presented as a tool for this collaboration, assuring the Branch of a continued partnership.


The NIESV team was comprised of esteemed members, including ESV Abdulwasiu F. Mohammed (Chairman Advocacy Committee), ESV Omeiza Sunday (PRO), ESV A. S Abdulkarim (YESVs Coordinator), ESV Patience Idachaba, ESV Olawale Atolaye (YESVs Asst. Coord.), Shuaibu Buhari (member Publicity Unit), and Dorcas Arowolo.


Despite the time constraint, the visit was a rich and successful one, as the NIESV delegation were warmly received by the University Media Committee members, ably led by Dr. Tosin Olagunju.
